Area guide to Sittingbourne
Sittingbourne has as rich and varied history dating back to Roman times. With coast and countryside close to hand – and it’s less than an hour from London by train. With a host of local amenities Sittingbourne is growing in popularity every year.
Faversham is a small Kentish medieval market town, big on charm and steeped in history. Its position nestled between city, countryside, and coast means you can benefit from the ideal balance between rural and urban life – all while being just over an hour’s train ride from London.
Dubbed Kent’s Treasure Island, the Isle of Sheppey is full of gems waiting to be discovered – from history and heritage, to natural beauty spots, and of course its golden sandy beaches. With quick and simple journeys to London and the mainland, there’s no reason not to take advantage of island living.
Sitting nicely between Sittingbourne and Faversham, the village and civil parish of Teynham lies along the A2 in Kent. Included in Teynham is the hamlet of Conyer, on the inlet of the Swale, the channel that separates mainland Kent from the Isle of Sheppey.
